Jared Prast grew up in northwest Indiana, before life eventually found him settling down with his family in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. When he isn’t writing, Jared is an avid sports fan of Chicago Cubs baseball, and Washington Capitals hockey. Locally, he enjoys taking his wife and 2 children to see the Asheville Tourists baseball team in North Carolina, and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits hockey team in South Carolina.

As a child, Jared enjoyed reading both fictional novels and comic books. Some of the authors that sparked his imagination over the years are Alexander Dumas, Frank Herbert, Stephen King, and J.R.R. Tolkien. Marvel comics and the characters created by Stan Lee, are still immensely important in his life, and in his opinion, are some of the best fictional characters ever written to show the flawed courage of the human condition. That love continues and inspires his own work today.
